Bridgwater United Football Club is delighted to reveal our initial plans to redevelop Fairfax Park beginning with the North Side of the ground.
As our community will be at the heart of this football club, we will continue to work closely with community stakeholders, to support the Health, Education, and Community Development and Cohesion of the town and specifically the neighbouring areas.
Community access will feature heavily as part of the proposed development with the stadium becoming a 7 day venue for the town with an enclosed café/Bar/Restaurant and State of the Art Sports Technology Centre. The two storey development will incorporate executive boxes that will also enable community groups to make use of the classroom and conferencing facilities all week. The sports technology centre will provide an innovative range of training arenas to improve sports performance, with players able to get more touches of the ball in less time and accelerating their development in core attributes. This technology is currently used by prestigious clubs in the Premier League and the top European Leagues. Although the main focus is football the application beyond football is massive for community engagement and interactions of those with special educational needs and disabilities.
The State of the art Sports Technology Centre for community engagement and educational support, will include a mini indoor 3G field with interactive technology and would be available for use 7 days a week to the club and to other organisations.
The development will vastly improve the match day experience for new, existing and visiting fans with families and young people placed at the heart of all activities within the stadium, with a Kids fans zone club and entertainment to be provided at every home match day.

State of the art Sports Technology Centre for community engagement and educational support
Alongside the development of the north stand, the club will also transform the entrance to the stadium with new signage, installing a tree lined boulevard and the resurfacing of the car park.
The outcome of this development will provide a state of the art complex that will house The Headquarters of the Bridgwater Community Sports Trust, football, community, tourism, and hospitality under one roof. It will provide a high quality finish to the venue to make best use of the available space for sporting and community purposes. It will also bring the standard of Fairfax Park to the level to play men’s and women’s elite level games in Bridgwater.
The club is committed to on-going maintenance of all grounds and future up-grades to maintain a high standard facility for the needs of the club and community.

In line with the club’s ambitions to proceed through the non-league pyramid, these plans will ensure our facilities exceed the Ground Grading requirements that will need achieved and ensure the stadium is a landmark destination within the South-West Region.
