Bridgwater United go into tomorrow evening’s Western League Premier Division clash down at Bridport at possibly just the right time with the Dorset club in turmoil after a nightmare start to the new campaign.

Their young squad has conceded an average of five goals a game so far and were thrashed 8-1 at home by Bitton on Saturday with four goals in each half stunning the St Mary’s Field faithful.

Dave Pearse’s squad is still far from injury free but with Jack Taylor, George King and Adnan Hiroli all finding the net recently and three FA Cup ties so far safely negotiated, a good campaign looks on the cards.
