Bashley arrive at Fairfax Park on Saturday for the FA vase 3rd Round tie in sixth place in what is a string 21 team Wessex League Premier Division having scored 50 goals in 19 games to date.

The New Forest side have recently halted a mini slide where they conceded nine goals in two games, by beating Bournemouth Poppies 2-1 on Saturday but have a fine pedigree having reached the semi-final of the Vase and been a dominant force in the Southern League before two calamitous campaigns where they went the whole season without a league win after having a reprieve from relegation the year before.
The Robins go into the game on a five game winning streak and expect keeper Jake Viney to be fit to take his place after taking a knock against Ashton and Backwell United two weeks ago and with teenage winger Marcel Lewis also in the squad. The 17 year old has signed along with his twin brother Otis, who is also a winger and the Swindon-based duo are currently at SGS College in Bristol and are attracting a lot of attention from higher up the footballing ladder.
The injury problems are beginning to ease although Mike Duffy and Nick Woodrow are still struggling and with the awful weather predicted to ease going into the weekend, there should be a bumper crowd on Saturday.
Before that game on the college pitch, the U18s continue their season in the SW Counties Youth League when they entertain Yeovil Town in the group stage of the Gary Else Cup which they are defending. With just the FA Youth Cup defeat down in Saltash United so far, Mo Hopkins’ squad is full of goals and easy on the eye.
To complete the trio of cup matches at the weekend, the Robins Women entertain Crystal Palace in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup 3rd Round, 2pm. United are on the back of 3 straight wins and face a Palace side who are enjoying their season and currently stand third in the Championship, five points behind leaders Liverpool Women with five wins from ten league games.
