✍️ Jude McCarthy Signs for Bridgwater United
Bridgwater United are thrilled to announce the signing of exciting young wing-back Jude McCarthy from Brislington, as preparations ramp up ahead of the 2025/26 Western League campaign.
At just 20 years old, Jude already boasts an impressive non-league résumé, with 122 first-team appearances under his belt — a remarkable milestone for a player of his age. A dynamic and industrious presence on the flanks, Jude joins the Robins having caught the eye of multiple Southern League clubs, but chose Fairfax Park as the ideal destination to continue his development.
Jude arrives from Brislington, where he spent the last two seasons and established himself as a mainstay in the side, racking up 41 appearances. Prior to his time at Brislington, he was part of the Hengrove Athletic setup, where he played an integral role across two seasons and made 81 appearances, including a standout Young Player of the Year award in the 2022/23 campaign.
While at Hengrove, Jude shared the pitch with fellow new Robins recruit Dan Dodimead, and the pair will now reunite at Bridgwater as part of manager Lee Lashenko’s rejuvenated squad for the new season.
Speaking to Bridgwater United’s media team following his move, Jue shared his excitement: “I’m delighted to join Bridgwater! I think it’s a great club under good control of a good manager and I can’t wait to get to work. I’d like to thank Brislington for the best 2 years of football I’ve had, but I think this is a great opportunity to kick on and progress my career.”
Jude brings both solid experience and youthful energy to the Robins’ backline. His versatility at both ends of the pitch will add significant depth and flexibility to Lashenko’s options heading into the new season.
