Josh Ford Joins the Robins
Bridgwater United are delighted to announce the signing of experienced defender Josh Ford, who arrives at Fairfax Park from fellow Western League side, Paulton Rovers.

A commanding, no-nonsense centre back, Ford brings physicality, leadership, and a strong aerial presence to the Robins’ defensive ranks. Known for his tough tackling and ability to read the game, he is also a threat at the other end of the pitch — with a proven knack for scoring goals from set pieces.
Josh arrives at Bridgwater with a wealth of Southern League experience, having previously represented a host of West Country clubs including Frome Town, Yate Town, Melksham Town, Bristol Manor Farm, Willand Rovers, and most recently Paulton Rovers. The signing reunites Ford with manager Lee Lashenko, under whom he previously played at Bristol Manor Farm — a period in which the club achieved notable success. Their existing relationship promises to bring instant cohesion to a defence that is being carefully shaped ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Speaking to Bridgwater United’s media team following his move, Josh shared his excitement: “I’m delighted to sign for Bridgwater! It’s a great opportunity to join one of the biggest clubs in the league. Being from Weston, it’s a club I’ve always kept my eye on and I actually came close to signing last season. When Laz got in contact, I was excited to team up with him again after our time together at Manor Farm, where we enjoyed relative success. I’ve come here to win something and help get the club where it belongs.”
Everyone at the club is excited to welcome Josh to the flock and can’t wait to see him in Red and White.
