Bridgwater United Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Stuart Jones as First Team Coach.

Jones recently ended a successful three year spell as manager of newly promoted Toolstation Western League Premier Division side Ashton & Backwell United. The former Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper adds a wealth of experience to the clubs backroom staff.

First Team Manager Dave Pearse commented, “It’s great to have Stuart join The Club, we felt a new voice with innovative ideas to expand our coaching team would help us reach a new level. Stuart provides and wealth of experience and is great character full of enthusiasm and drive. He will be a great addition to the club.”

On his arrival to Fairfax Park Stuart said, “I’m delighted to be joining this football club. The club have aims and ambitions that support my own and it is set to be a very exciting journey. The Club has a lot of good people at its core that will help provide the solid foundation for us to grow from. The playing squad are a hungry group who want more than just compete at this level which is very exciting to be a part of.”

The Robins CEO Adam Murry added, “I’d like to welcome Stuart to the club alongside our current management team of Dave and Karl. His playing experience coupled with his knowledge of the league makes him a great addition to our First Team. We have set out to be able to provide an increased level of resource to our squads and this has continued with our management personnel. Stuart has been with us for the last few weeks, and bringing him in ahead of next season, allows everyone to be further prepared ahead of next season to help push us towards our goals.”
