Bridgwater United are delighted to announce the arrival of Ben John, who joins the Robins as Goalkeeping Coach and first-team goalkeeper ahead of the 2025/26 Western League campaign.
Ben brings with him an exceptional level of experience and leadership, having made over 750 appearances in the Southern League throughout a storied career. A stalwart between the posts, Ben has earned widespread respect across the non-league scene for his consistency, professionalism, and game intelligence. This marks a return to Fairfax Park for Ben, who previously played for Bridgwater over a decade ago during the club’s tenure as a solid Southern League side. His familiarity with the club, coupled with his vast experience, makes him a perfect fit as both a player and mentor within Lee Lashenko’s ambitious squad.
Ben has enjoyed spells with a multitude of well-established clubs and will now combine his playing duties with the role of Goalkeeping Coach — working closely with Bridgwater’s shot-stoppers to elevate their performance as part of the club’s progression plan.

Ben’s dual-role appointment is another clear signal of intent from Lee Lashenko and his backroom team, who continue to build a squad with the right blend of talent, character, and experience to take Bridgwater United forward.
